It was a fantastic evening at the East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire) Business Awards, where Ascentant Accountancy was proud to be named a finalist in the CSR Leadership category.
We had the opportunity to connect with so many inspiring, innovative, and growing businesses across the region. While we didn’t take home the award, being recognised alongside such outstanding organisations is something we’re very proud of.
Being shortlisted is a significant milestone for us. It reinforces our belief that accountancy is about far more than compliance – it’s about building meaningful relationships, supporting communities and helping people create sustainable futures.
Our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility is rooted in accessibility, education and empowerment. Over the past two years, we’ve delivered workshops supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses, helping over 100 individuals build confidence, improve financial understanding and take real steps towards growing their ventures.
We’ve also been proud to work alongside institutions such as the University of Derby on initiatives like Game Changer and Pitch Perfect, helping turn ideas into viable businesses and providing ongoing support beyond the classroom.
