Our next ‘Meet the Team’ is Adrian Peck, Client Relations Executive at Ascentant Accountancy…
When did you join Ascentant Accountancy?
August 2024, so almost two years ago now.
How did you get into client relations?
I’ve had a varied career spanning sports psychology, public speaking and, more recently, business development. It was while working in business development for another accountancy practice that I met Kevin, our founder, at a networking event.
I joined Ascentant shortly afterwards in a business development role and have since moved into the position of Client Relations Executive. The role suits me well because I’ve always enjoyed working with people.
What does your role involve?
I communicate with clients from the moment they come on board, keeping them informed of any changes, updates and progress on their accountancy tasks.
I make sure our clients are up to date and happy with the service we’re providing, acting as their main point of contact whenever they need support.
What are you most proud of in your role so far?
I’m proud to play a part in the business strategy, helping to identify opportunities for improvement and suggesting new ideas. Kevin trusts me to take ownership and run with those ideas, which is really rewarding.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping people might sound like a cliché, but it’s absolutely true in this case.
Clients are often worried or uncertain when it comes to their accounts, so being able to put their minds at ease, provide clarity and answer their questions is incredibly important. I love being able to remove that fear, show empathy and offer support when it’s needed most.
What’s it like to work at Ascentant Accountancy?
I genuinely love it here. The atmosphere and working environment are a great fit for me. Kevin is a fantastic boss and we have a brilliant team.
Everyone’s opinion is valued, there’s no judgement, and people are always willing to help each other. It really does feel like being part of a family.
Why should clients choose Ascentant Accountancy?
We’re a friendly, approachable team that genuinely cares about our clients. We always try to see things from their perspective, provide practical support and do our best to make things as straightforward and stress-free as possible.
What’s your comfort TV show? Anything that involves cooking – I love to cook!
What’s your most controversial food opinion? I put chocolate in my chilli con carne… and it tastes delicious!
If you had to swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be? Paul McKenna – he’s incredibly good at what he does. In fact, I was trained by him in hypnotherapy.
